Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory letter to Senegalese President Macky Sall, the African co-chair of the Forum on the China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the forum.

Xi said this year marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the FOCAC, and China and Africa should take the opportunity to fully implement the results of the Beijing Summit of the FOCAC, promoting China-Africa comprehensive strategic partnership and building a closer China-Africa community with a shared future. 

In his letter to Xi Jinping, Sall also extended his congratualtions on the FOCAC 20th anniversary, while expressing his support for China's efforts in fighting the novel coronavirus.  

Xi thanked Sall, saying China is confident of containing the epidemic.
