Two killed as train derails in N Italy

A high-speed train derailed Thursday morning in north Italy's city of Lodi, killing two people, local media reported.

Around 30 people were injured in the accident which occurred at around 5:35 a.m. local time.

Pictures from the scene show that two carriages of the train were derailed and seriously damaged.

Rescue missions and an investigation into the cause of the incident are currently underway.
