U.S. astronaut Christina Koch returned to the Earth on Thursday after shattering the spaceflight record for female astronauts. Koch spent 328 days in space along with Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency, and Alexander Skvortsov of the Russian space agency. Koch's mission provides researchers the opportunity to observe the effects of long-duration spaceflight on a woman.
