Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam's weekly news briefing. She's expected to address mounting concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus.
On February 4, Carrie Lam responded to a strike by doctors and nurses demanding a total shutdown of the border with the Chinese mainland in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Lam said the strike has impacted hospital services and patients. Lam appealed to medical staff to stick to their positions in fighting the novel coronavirus pneumonia, and pledged to put the needs of medical personnel first.
