The local government of central China's Hubei Province holds a daily news conference to give updates on the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP). In response to the NCP crisis, two prefab hospitals Huoshenshan and Leishenshan with up to 2,500 beds were built in Wuhan, the epicenter of the NCP outbreak, and started taking patients last Monday. Meanwhile, public spaces such as sports centers, stadiums and exhibition centers in Wuhan are being converted into makeshift hospitals to treat NCP patients with mild symptoms. The makeshift hospitals are expected to hold about 10,000 beds.
