A revision in the diagnosis criteria for the novel coronavirus pneumonia in Hubei Province has resulted in a sudden surge in the number of confirmed patients in the central Chinese province on Wednesday. Tong Zhaohui, an expert in the central guidance group and vice-president of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, said in an exclusive interview with China Central Television (CCTV) that the move was in line with the National Health Commission's latest diagnostic guidelines to include clinical diagnosis, using CT scans and other tests.
