Olivier Adam said that the UNV appreciated the "concerted" measures by the Chinese government to address the emergency. He also spoke highly of the sectors, institutions, organizations and all Chinese people for their "extraordinary" sense of solidarity and commitment to action.

In addition, Adam also said that the tireless action of numerous volunteer organizations and tens of thousands of volunteers, especially China's half a million youth volunteers, was an "outstanding" demonstration in the spirit of volunteerism, and that the UNV stood with the people of China.

For a long time, the Chinese Young Volunteers Association (CYVA) and the UNV have cooperated in various aspects and at various levels, maintaining close contact and good interaction. In recent years, the two sides have jointly promoted cooperation projects such as the "UNV-CYVA Chinese Youth Volunteer Overseas Volunteering Programme," and the first batch of Chinese youth volunteers have been dispatched to several UN agencies including the UN headquarters.
