The cold wave starting from Friday has brought snow in northern China and rain in the south.

While many places are still covered in snow, the plum blossoms in central China's Hunan Province are blooming in rain.

In Chinese culture, the plant is considered to be lofty, together with orchids, bamboo and chrysanthemums. It is deemed a tough flower because of its early blooming in mid-winter.
