Spring plowing begins in most parts across China despite the coronavirus epidemic

Spring plowing has kicked off in most parts of China while the country is combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Workers in Quanzhou City are sowing seeds in a rice field. They have been told to wear masks and not to gather in groups.

Maobulage Village of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region launched a program aiming to turn 100 hectares of farm land into a high-standard demonstration area. 18 farming machines are working in the field leveling the land.

Wangjiawan Village in Shaanxi Province plans to grow seedlings ten days earlier than usual. A total of 2.2 million seedlings were planted in four greenhouses in the village, the vegetables can be transplanted into greenhouses within a month.

Heilongjiang Province, one of China's major grain-producing provinces, has worked with banks to promote an agricultural loan for farmers and new business entities to ensure they have enough funds to buy seeds and fertilizer.
