On February 17, farmers picked peppers in Bo'ao Town, Qionghai City, south China's Hainan Province. Bo'ao Town is the permanent site of the annual Boao Forum for Asia. The pepper varieties planted in Hainan Province are mainly red peppers, pod peppers, yellow peppers, sweet peppers and a unique pepper variety, Hainan-yellow bell peppers. In order to promote the local pepper industry, Hainan Province has expanded the planting area and supported local pepper brands.
