Two top South Korean airlines scratched the country's Oscar-winning film "Parasite" from their in-flight entertainment lists, citing "sexually provocative scenes," local media reported recently.

A Korean Air official was quoted as saying that films "containing sexual or provocative content" will not be screened.

"Based on our judgement, 'Parasite' includes a scene that could be provocative for our young passengers," the official said.

Korean Air plans to screen about 400 films this year, as per reports.

According to Korean Times, a local English newspaper, the film was also considered inappropriate for "portraying Korea negatively."

Asiana Airlines, the country's second largest airline, ruled out the film from their in-flight list for similar reasons, but said that they might reconsider it if they were allowed to "settle up" the scenes they considered "inappropriate," after negotiating with the suppliers.

Black comedy "Parasite," directed by Bong Joon-ho, grabbed four Oscars at the 92nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film.
