The picture above shows salt lakes in Yuncheng city, Shanxi province in north China. The salt lakes seem to have a shiny gold foil in the sunlight. It is an amazing scene already, but gold is not the only color in this natural palette. In spring, as the water temperature slowly rises, minerals in the water begin precipitating creating  different colors in the salt lakes. In these aerial photographs, the salt lakes resemble colorful paintings.
