Laos highly appreciates China's great efforts in the combat against the COVID-19 outbreak and will stand side by side with China fighting the epidemic, said Lao Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith during an interview with CCTV.

China has made remarkable achievements in the prevention and control of the virus, he said. "With the improvement of the situation, many companies have begun to resume work gradually, and the Chinese economy will also recover quickly."

"China has taken right and effective measures to control the spread of the outbreak under the strong leadership of the Chinese government," he added.

The foreign minister also spoke highly of the Special ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting on Coronavirus Disease, which was held on Thursday, saying that the meeting has made great contributions to the cooperation among Southeast Asian Nations in combating epidemic through effective information sharing.
