The Battle of the Oranges, a centerpiece event of the annual Carnival of Ivrea, takes place in the Italian town of Ivrea. This carnival is the oldest in Italy, according to the Historic Carnival of Ivrea Foundation. Each year, the town stocks up about 500,000 kilograms of oranges for the battle.
