Flocks of Eurasian oystercatchers gather in the Jiaozhou Bay National Maritime Park in Qingdao City, east China's Shandong Province.

The Eurasian oystercatcher, or Haematopus ostralegus, is a wader in the oystercatcher family. As the name suggests, the oystercatcher feeds on oysters and other mollusks. It uses its chisel-like beak to prise open the mollusk and to pick up earthworms.
