South Korea reported 763 confirmed coronavirus cases and seven deaths. Most of the cases are related to two group gatherings. The two most severe outbreak areas are the Shincheonji Church in Daegu and the hospital in Chungdo.

The South Korean government raised the disease alert to the highest level, allowing authorities to send extra resources to the city of Daegu and Cheongdo county, both designated "special care zones."
