Expert: U.S. CDC's disclosure of information about COVID-19 not enough

The White House is sending to the U.S. Congress on Monday a budget request for 2.5 billion U.S. dollars to fight COVID-19. Democrats immediately slammed the request, saying it comes too late and is disproportionate to the scale of this emergency. In the past two years, Trump has been seeking to cut public health funding. The United States has reported over 50 cases related to coronavirus, which includes people who were evacuated from the cruise ship in Japan. The U.S. CDC calls the virus a "tremendous public health threat." CGTN interviewed infectious disease expert Gavin MacGregor for his views on the United States' response.
