Risks of global spread 'very high,' fewer confirmed cases in China

The World Health Organization (WHO) has increased the global risk from the novel coronavirus outbreak from "high" to "very high" as people in at least 56 countries have been infected.

Meanwhile, the Chinese mainland has reported 427 new cases, of which only four were outside of Hubei Province.

There have been more new cases reported from countries outside of China than within China for three consecutive days since February 26.

The WHO on Friday reaffirmed its warning that the fast-spreading coronavirus could soon reach most, "if not all" countries around the world.

The United States has reported 64 confirmed coronavirus cases, with a woman in California, a resident in northwest Oregon, and a high school student in Washington State all having unknown links to any other outbreak or infected person.

South Korea reported 16 deaths as of Saturday, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 3,150.

Japan confirmed a total of 940 coronavirus cases with death toll reaching 11. 

Iran has reported 43 deaths, with its former ambassador to the Vatican among the fatalities. Iran's vice president for women and family affairs has also tested positive for the virus.

Malaysia has confirmed two new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total tally up to 25.

Australia has confirmed 25 coronavirus cases, nine of which are passengers from the Diamond Princess cruise ship repatriated from Japan.

In Europe, Monaco and Iceland both reported their first cases of coronavirus on Friday. The number of confirmed cases in the UK reached 20. The death toll in Italy has reached 21, and 888 people have been affected.
