Italy's top football league Serie A on Saturday announced that five games that were supposed to happen this weekend, have been postponed to May 13 because of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.
The five games are: Udinese vs. Fiorentina, AC Milan vs. Genoa, Parma vs. SPAL, Sassuolo vs. Brescia and most importantly, Juventus vs. Inter Milan.
The decision was made "considering the succession of numerous urgent regulatory interventions by the Government to respond to this extraordinary emergency to protect public health and safety," said Serie A in a statement.

Juventus later confirmed the news on Twitter.
The Coppa Italia final, which is scheduled to take place on May 14, is thus delayed to May 20. The four teams that made the semifinals are: Juventus, Inter, Milan and Napoli.
Currently, Juventus lead Serie A with 60 points, followed by Lazio (59 points) and Inter (54 points, one game less). Since neither Juventus nor Inter are playing this weekend, all Lazio need is to get one point from the game against Bologna on Saturday before they can replace Juventus on top.

So far there are at least 888 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Italy, making Serie A the hardest-hit football league in Europe. Last week there were four games postponed, including the one between Inter and Sampdoria.
In the behind-closed-doors game against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad at home on Thursday, Inter claimed a 2-1 victory to make the Round of 16 at the UEFA Europa League.
