In India, at least 42 people have died and more than 350 injured in the capital New Delhi, where clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups have been taking place since Sunday. Indian police said on Friday they had detained hundreds of people and deployed personnel to the affected areas. The clashes began over a new citizenship law, which allows religious minorities from neighboring countries a fast track to citizenship, excluding Muslims. Opposition groups say the law is unconstitutional for singling out a religious minority. So far, the violence against the law has killed over 70 people across India.
