Chinese artist Xiao Han, vice president of the Association of World Chinese Artists, donated 300,000 yuan to Hubei, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus.

Xiao initiated a charity auction to call for more Chinese artists around the world to donate their artworks or money.

He also invited these artists overseas to donate masks, protective clothing, protective eyewear and other medical supplies. There are over 60 Chinese artists living in different countries who have made donations to Wuhan.

Xiao's donation was made on behalf of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and was sent to Huanggang City, Hubei Province directly.

Apart from financial support, Xiao also donated 100,000 kilograms of fresh vegetables to Haunggang to help local people who were affected by the novel coronavirus.

Xiao moved to Europe in 1989 and is the first Chinese painter that was interviewed and filmed by German state television.

His works have been displayed in various art galleries in Europe, and have been auctioned annually at famous auction companies in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and other cities.
