Thailand on March 1 reported the death of a man who was diagnosed with COVID-19, but tested negative several days before passing away.

The 35-year-old, who worked as a salesperson and had contact with tourists, was first admitted to the hospital for a fever in late January and was later diagnosed with the virus. He tested negative for the disease days before his death, but medical staff said that he remained in a serious condition due to organ damage from a dengue fever infection.

Thailand has confirmed 42 cases of the COVID-19, which has infected over 86,000 people globally.
