A stump-tailed macaque, a rare species under second-class state protection in China, was involved in a bit of a scuffle after it wandered into a village, attacked a local, and was reported to the police in southwest China's Yunnan Province. Police concluded that the macaque was once domesticated but possibly abandoned by its owner. It will be sent to the wildlife department for further inspection and to determine whether it should be released into the wild.
