The Coppa Italia semifinal second leg match between Juventus and AC Milan in Turin on Wednesday has been postponed indefinitely because of concerns about the coronavirus outbreak, the ANSA news agency and other Italian media said on Tuesday.
Serie A made the announcement late Tuesday – less than 24 hours before the second-leg match was scheduled to kick off.
The first leg ended 1-1.
Ten Serie A matches throughout northern Italy have also been postponed over the past two weekends.
With more than 2,000 cases confirmed, sports events have been banned in regions including Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna in the country, although top flight football matches can go ahead behind closed doors.
The Piedmont region where Turin is located was exempted from the ban on Sunday and Juventus immediately said the game would go ahead with spectators. However, ANSA said on Tuesday that the city council had decided to call the match off.
