China says the situation at the epicenter of the outbreak is easing off. Officials in Hubei province say the numbers of confirmed and suspected cases have, at least for the moment, dropped dramatically. In the provincial capital Wuhan, which has borne the brunt of the outbreak, the number of new confirmed cases has dropped below 200 a day. But authorities say strict prevention measures will stay in place for now.
