China's State Council has announced further reforming the country's health insurance system.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the country's top authority said it will improve the dynamic adjustment mechanism of insurance catalog, and include drugs, medical treatment items and medical consumables of high clinical value and good economic evaluation into the scope of medical insurance payment.
Moreover, it will improve the mechanism of pricing medical services, besides ensuring that the prices of drugs and medical supplies are market-driven. It will also share information on transaction prices across the country and address the problem of inflated prices of drugs and high-value medical supplies.
