World's smallest penguin breed arrives in Europe

The world's smallest breed of penguin has arrived in Europe after six tiny chicks hatched on the south coast of England.

The adorable fairy penguins were born at Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park in Dorset as part of a new breeding program.

They will eventually grow to around 13 inches tall but now, aged just weeks old, they are roughly the same size as a large gerbil.

The pocket-sized creatures belong to a colony that was moved to Dorset after their sanctuary in Australia closed in 2018.
