A group of baby harbor seals was found trapped in the coastal area of Liaodong Bay in northeastern China's Liaoning Province.
A local rescue team arrived and released them into the wild.
Judging by their size, some of the baby harbor seals are believed to be newborns still in the lactation period.
There are currently 2,000 harbor seals living in Liaodong Bay. Twenty years ago, there were only a few hundred. The change was influenced by improved animal protection measures in recent years.
Most harbor seals inhabit coastal waters that are ice-free throughout the year.
