Dr. Liu Kai, part of a team of medics from Shanghai now working in Wuhan, stood next to a bedridden 87-year-old to watch a sunset, in this shot snapped by a fellow hospital volunteer.

The photo, showing the back of Dr. Liu in a hazmat suit while the patient points to the sun along with him, triggered netizens' empathy and warmth. "It's touching people's lives. You never know who will be the next to watch the sunset with you," wrote one commentor.
