A group of recovered patients from Huoshenshan Hospital stepped forward to donate their blood plasma immediately after their 14-day quarantine. Tough times in the ward had turned them into close friends.

According to Zhan Shangen, the director of the hematology department at Central Military Zone General Hospital, at least 20 to 30 percent of the recovered patients between 18 and 55 years old, who meet the age requirement of donors, are willing to donate their plasma. However, the quantity is not enough, Hubei still has over 2,000 critically ill patients and about 6,000 severely ill patients – there is a great need for blood plasma. The demand is still high.
