Speed, compliance key to containing COVID-19: Hong Kong disease expert
CGTN reporter Zhu Dan interviewed Yuan Guoyong, a member of the high-level expert team at China's National Health Commission and Chair Professor of Infectious Diseases of the University of Hong Kong, on the topic of COVID-19 containment. Prof. Yuan said the experience China can share with the world was that speed and total compliance are the two key elements in containing the virus. He said the view that only sick people needed to wear masks was not helpful in curbing the spread of coronavirus. He also endorsed the decision to lock down Wuhan as excellent because it was the timely action that helped control the situation.
