Last night, many parts of China saw a full moon light up the night sky. The moon appeared larger and brighter than other full moons, hence its name, supermoon.
According to NASA, a supermoon occurs when a full moon, or new moon, appears exactly when the moon's orbit reaches its closest point to Earth. The big and bright moon scenery is because of this beautiful coincidence.
Though the supermoon is attractive, please pay attention to your safety while gazing into the night sky amid the coronavirus outbreak. Avoid gathering with others while enjoying the supermoon. If possible, staying at home and watching it from your balcony is a safer option.
