Chongqing Municipality in southwest China on Sunday saw the last patient infected with COVID-19 discharged from hospital. The number of existing confirmed cases is zero after 55 days of intensive medical care.

Mr. Yang, 51, was the last patient. He had a basic medical history of hypertension and diabetes but recovered and left hospital on Sunday after he was found to have met the standards for discharge. He will stay at home for 14 days of self-isolation.
