The FA have some bad news for football fans. On Thursday, the English football governing body announced its decision to further postpone domestic football competitions until April 30 because of the spread of COVID-19 around the country.

"We've collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than Thursday 30 April," said the FA in a statement.

Previously the football fixtures in England were delayed to the first weekend of April, but the deterioration of the public health situation – as of Thursday, 2,630 confirmed cases and 103 deaths have been reported in Britain, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) – has forced the FA to act again.

Multiple infections have been found in the Premier League and two of the biggest names are manager Mikel Arteta of Arsenal and midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea.

Liverpool may have mixed feelings about the second delay. On one hand, the Reds are only two wins away from winning their first top league title in 30 years – as long as there is hope for the season to restart, there is hope for Liverpool becoming the champions. Nonetheless, the season being postponed again means the FA has not yet found a solution, so perhaps they will delay it for the third time on April 30.

Tottenham Hotspur may be the only team happy to hear the news. Currently they are No. 8 in the table and a major problem for the team is the injuries of their strike pair, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Originally the two would not be back on time to help Hotspur, but the season being postponed repeatedly has given the team time to wait for their best scorers to return.
