Italy builds new ICUs for COVID-19 patients

Lombardy, the Italian region hit hardest by the novel coronavirus, is rushing to establish new intensive care units to cater to a growing number of patients. Governor Attilio Fontana decided to use Milan's expo space to build 400 new ICUs.

In Europe, COVID-19 has hit Italy the hardest, with nearly 28,000 cases and 2,158 deaths. The WHO says people with mild symptoms recover in about two weeks, while serious cases may take three to six weeks.
