China's women's national football team will resume training in late March to prepare for the Olympic qualification playoffs against South Korea, the team announced on Thursday.
The team flew back to China early in March after staying in Australia for over a month. They will assemble in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou, yet no date has been unannounced.
Playmaker Wang Shuang, who sat out of the first phase of China's qualification campaign due to coronavirus outbreak, is expected to rejoin the team. The 25-year-old was at home in Wuhan when the city was put on lockdown.
The Chinese team is scheduled to play away against South Korea in the first leg of the playoffs on June 4, with the second leg to be held five days later. Venues for both legs remain undecided due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
In the group game phase, China beat Thailand and Chinese Taipei by 6-1, 5-0, and tied with Australia by 1-1.
