This serene squirrel looks to be deep in thought as it stands on two back legs beneath one of the last flowers of the season. The bushy tailed mammal is foraging around for food stretching on tip toes to reach the bright red poppies before pulling them down towards him. For a few moments the cheeky rodent holds the stem between his teeth before munching on the tasty flower. This hungry creature is one of a family of burrowing European ground squirrels who were photographed in a meadow in north east Austria. /VCG
