Novak Djokovic has taken to social media to give his thoughts on the coronavirus crisis. The 17-time Grand Slam winner expressed appreciation to China for sending medical experts to help in Serbia's fight against the pandemic.

The world number one wrote: "Thanks to all the countries that help each other in such a difficult time. China has suffered a lot while fighting against the virus, yet they selflessly send medical experts and equipment to Serbia to help us, that means a lot."

At the end of the article, Djokovic posts the phrase: "Thank you, I love you China!" in Chinese Pinyin. A team of Chinese health care workers with experience in fighting COVID-19 arrived in Belgrade on Saturday, to add their assistance in Serbia's battle against the disease.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal also updated his social media to thank the medical professionals working hard to overcome the coronavirus pandemic in Spain. The 19-time Grand Slam champion also encouraged his fellow citizens to keep following the advice of health care workers to help defeat the disease.

"I want to send a message of thanks to all the doctors and nurses, as well as all the other health care workers who are protecting us, along with all the police divisions and armed services who are helping us feel a little bit safer. Those who are on the frontlines at the end of the day, run the highest risk of getting infected, and you are our heroes. I just want to show my admiration and my utmost gratitude for all of you. Thank you very much. A lot of companies are also giving their support, and as citizens we are showing our unity day after day, by following all the norms the health care workers have provided for us, and staying at home and doing everything we must do, to beat this terrible pandemic as quickly as possible," said Nadal.
