Beijing is reopening the Badaling section of the Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is usually crowded with tourists all year round.

The Badaling section will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day only for one designated route, starting from March 24, 2020. Other areas of this section as well as the Shuiguan Great Wall, the Ancient Great Wall and the Great Wall Museum will remain closed.

Starting from March 23, visitors can purchase the ticket in advance through the official WeChat account or the official website of the Badaling Great Wall and enter the park by swiping their ID cards.

To ensure the health and safety of tourists, the passenger flow shall be controlled under 30 percent of its handling capacity, according to the regulation. Strict health declaration and body temperature tests are required before visitors entering the scenic spot.
