Three chartered planes with 448 medics on board took off from Wuhan and arrived in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, on Monday. At the airport, flights were each given a water salute, considered a sign of respect. A short ceremony was also held to mark their contribution in fighting against COVID-19 in Hubei Province.
