A new baby golden takin was born on March 19 at a wildlife base in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

This brings the total number of newborn golden takins at the base this year to three, with the previous two ones born on February 6 and March 17, respectively.

The new baby takin is dark-brown in color, and has a forehead dotted with white fur. It was able to stand up about 10 minutes after its birth, and went toward its mother for milk.

The golden takin is an endangered goat-antelope, native to the Qinling Mountains, a geological divide between northern and southern parts of China.
