For gardeners, colored flowers that can build a dreamy garden are always worth finding. Luckily, a type of flower can fulfill many of their requirements, with its tender and delicate daisy-like blossom, is the cineraria.
The cineraria is native to the Canary Islands. It is a hybrid of two plants, and was first developed in British royal gardens in 1777, then went worldwide. It is known for the large, lush, bright green leaves and the vividly colored flowers that can blossom from spring to summer.

Cineraria is very common in China as an ornamental flower in gardens, flower beds and pots. Based on different cultivars, the flower manifests different colors from blue, purple, pink and red.
Growing cineraria is a little challenging, as it is not hardy against hotness and drought. It should be grown in partial to full shade, in rich, well-drained soil with a high compost content. Water it regularly and thoroughly to keep the soil moist, but avoid over-watering otherwise it will be harmed. Some extra care will be needed depending on whether it is planted in the garden or a pot.
