At least 1,541 asymptomatic patients were placed under medical observation in China by Monday, including 205 cases originating abroad, the National Health Commission (NHC) said in a statement issued on its website on Tuesday.
On the same day, the NHC also announced that a tally of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients will be included in the daily outbreak report starting Wednesday.
The spread of COVID-19 in Wuhan, the provincial capital of central China's Hubei, has been basically curbed, said Ma Xiaowei, director of the NHC, at a press conference,
Over 63,000 patients have recovered in Hubei Province so far, with the recovery rate topping 93 percent, according to Ma.
None of the more than 40,000 medical workers dispatched to Hubei to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak has tested positive for the virus, Ma said.
