Beijing has rejected accusations made by some Western countries, including the U.S. and the UK, that China is responsible for the massive global outbreak of the novel coronavirus. 

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said the government did all it could to control the pandemic, including imposing an unprecedented lockdown at an early stage.
