Global confirmed COVID-19 cases top 800,000: Johns Hopkins University

The number of COVID-19 cases around the world surpassed 800,000 on Tuesday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The United States now has the most cases, with more than 160,000 infections confirmed. 

The CSSE has recorded 37,878 deaths from the coronavirus worldwide.

Globally, over 170,000 patients have recovered from the disease, said the CSSE.
