The funny pictures, taken by Swedish photographer Geert Weggen, will likely make your day.

A red squirrel appears to be training as a a mini weightlifter. It works really hard to lift everything: nuts, eggs, cookies. Don't worry for the little athlete's health: The training scenes are not real. Slide to see if you can find out how the pictures were taken:

Geert Weggen managed to picture the weightlifting squirrels on a table in his garden in Bispgarden, Sweden. The red squirrels live in the forest near Mr Weggen's house and visit the garden daily. He was able to capture the moment by bending a small stick, gluing eggs and nuts to it, and hanging the food from above with a wire. The squirrels would then reach up, giving the effect as if they were weightlifting.

The 51-year-old said: "It was amazing when I managed to capture the right moment. I love their expressions when they are caught in the moment.

"It is rare that they stand still. They are always on the move, but small peaces of nuts connected with nutspread on the branch gives me a little time for a photo."
