As the coronavirus spreads around the world, the situation in all countries remains grave. In addition to people fighting the virus around the world, many of the world's most famous politicians and celebrities from the sports and entertainment circles have been diagnosed or are being quarantined at home. Many have set examples, sharing on social media ways to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Born and raised in Italy, influencer Chiara Ferragni first spoke out in early March and posted a photo of herself wearing a mask on Instagram. An attached article told fans the purpose of wearing masks, and the seriousness of the virus.

"So please, start the awareness and understand that this is not a common flu and it's way more dangerous for all of us: STAY IN as much as possible in this critical time. And if you can, help telling others to be careful and help Italy with its hospitals," she wrote.

Ferragni has used her platform to warn her Instagram followers to take the necessary to fight the crisis and stress the serious issue of an inadequate number of beds available in intensive care units.

Ferragni and her husband Fedez also recorded a video on March 9 to warn people of the virus. They have raised over three million euros to help fight against the pandemic in Italy via a Go Fund Me campaign.

The couple also donated 100,000 euros to fund Milan's San Raffaele hospital.

The hospital said on Twitter that 191,000 people have donated 3.8 million euros, and thanked Italian singer Fedez and his wife Chiara for the initiative.

She also posts Instagram stories regularly to share effective ways to control the virus in China, such as pushing the elevator button with a toothpick and temperature-taking before entering any indoor space.

And it's not just Chiara.

Celebrities, KOLs and models are also calling for more support against the pandemic and for followers to take preventive measures.

For example, Bella Hadid, the American model, participated in Chiara's fundraiser.

She said while she was in good health, she was socially distancing herself but not disconnecting.

"I'm not sick but doing so feels like the best thing for myself and others to keep this virus from spreading in my community," she said, and urged people not to fall into the trap of racism and fear.

Bella was also the first to take an active part in fundraising events on her Instagram feed, sending free food to schools and families in need.

"When the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they dreamed new images and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully," she wrote.

Kim Kardashian posted a photo of herself wearing a mask and gloves as she urged people not to stock up on supplies and try to help elderly people living alone around. She also made a list of "Help Slow the Spread of Coronavirus," which tells people what to do in case of emergency.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, former governor of California, made a video telling people that staying at home is the most important thing.

At a time when lots of people were still advocating the theory that masks were useless, Naomi Campbell, English model, actress, was directly "fully armed" when she traveled – wearing protective clothing, masks, goggles and disposable gloves.

Campbell sees the measures as necessary and hopes fans will take the pandemic seriously and protect themselves as she does.

The virus has no borders, and any country that wants to be completely free of the virus will require a concerted effort from the global community.

Celebrities choosing to come forward at this time to spread a positive message is also a way to work with frontline health workers.
