Singapore has closed many of its entertainment venues as it enforced social distancing measures following a jump in COVID-19 cases. However, COVID-19 cannot dampen the spirits of DJs and party-goers who have now taken their parties to the online world.

Clubbers can send virtual gifts to the DJs, which can later be exchanged for cash. An online nightclub attracted 200,000 views for a three-hour event that was streamed live. At its peak, 5,600 people were watching via the app.

In China, DJs and nightclubs started livestreaming performances in early February when the outbreak was at its peak. A club in Beijing attracted over a million viewers and generated nearly two million yuan (about 280,000 U.S. dollars) in rewards from its fans in a five-hour livestream.
