China holds a national mourning for martyrs who sacrificed themselves in the fight against the novel coronavirus and compatriots who died of the disease. National flags are flying at half-mast across the country and in all Chinese embassies and consulates abroad and public recreational activities will be suspended in the country. Chinese people nationwide are observing three minutes of silence to mourn the deceased, while air raid sirens and horns on automobiles, trains and ships wail in grief.
