April 4 marks China's traditional Tomb Sweeping Day and this year, National Mourning Day to honor those who lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19. Flags are flying at half-mast, and public recreational activities have been suspended today. This is the first time that a major public health emergency has triggered nationwide mourning.

TV series, variety shows and other entertainment programs scheduled to be broadcast today have also been suspended. "If Time Flows Back" on Beijing satellite TV was suspended, so was the youth romance drama "Skate Into Love," according to Beijing Youth Daily.

Music variety shows like "Me To Us" and "The Treasured Voice" have also stopped broadcasting.

Several COVID-19-themed programs will instead be offered to the audiences.
